Elie Wiesel In the memoir Night by Elie Wiesel the author portrays his emotions as well as his personal experience as a Jew in the holocaust. Wiesel is encouraged to write his novel by his passion to let the world know the gruesome truth about the holocaust. Wiesel had firsthand experience on what it is like to live in a concentration camp. One experience that is traumatic to Wiesel is when his dad was beaten in a concentration camp. Wiesel’s dad called to him for help yet he did nothing for fear of being beaten. Lastly Wiesel wrote his book to prevent an event as tragic as this from happening again by educating the future about the past. Hence Elie Wiesel wrote his novel to help educate society about the past and ensure that people do not forget.
